What is Chinese Hemp and Its Uses?

HEMP is one of the oldest crop plants in China, having been domesticated from a wild plant to a cultivated crop through long-term efforts. According to Chinese historical records and archaeological data, the history of hemp cultivation and use in China dates back almost 2000 years, as evidenced by its inclusion in the Compendium of Materia Medica, a Chinese medical text. The various parts of the hemp plant have been used for a variety of purposes, including the production of food and feed from its seeds, oil for chemical raw materials and fuel, and Chinese medicinal materials from its leaves. Hemp by-products have also been widely used abroad.
