The Difference Between Hemp Oil and CBD Oil Explained

Hemp oil and CBD oil are two very different products, each with their own unique composition and benefits. Hemp oil, or hemp seed oil, is derived from the seeds of the hemp plant and contains no cannabinoids. CBD oil, on the other hand, is made from all parts of the cannabis plant and contains high levels of cannabidiol (CBD). Cannabis plants contain a variety of compounds called cannabinoids, the two best known being THC and CBD.

THC is the psychoactive cannabinoid found in marijuana that causes a “high”, while CBD is non-psychoactive and has many health benefits. Hemp plants contain more CBD and less THC than cannabis plants, so full-spectrum hemp oil extract is the best way to take advantage of the entourage effect. Consumers should be aware that CBD products are not regulated by the Food and Drug Administration and should look for certification through independent laboratory tests or QR codes on product packaging. If consumers experience adverse effects from products containing THC or CBD, they should seek medical attention and inform healthcare providers of the ingredients they have consumed.
